The University of New South Wales

The University of New South Wales is an Australian public research university located in the Sydney suburb of Kensington. Established in 1949, UNSW is a prestigious Australian university ranked 44th in the world in the 2021 QS World University Rankings and 67th in the world in the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. According to the 2020 QS World University Rankings by Subject, UNSW is ranked top 15 in the world for Accounting, Finance and Law, and 1st in Australia for Engineering and Technology. UNSW enrols the highest number of Australia’s top 500 high school students academically and produces more millionaire graduates than any other Australian university.

The university comprises seven faculties, through which it offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The main campus is located on a 38-hectare (94-acre) site in the Sydney suburb of Kensington, 7 km (about 4.3 miles) from the Sydney central business district (CBD). The creative arts faculty, UNSW Art & Design, is located in Paddington, UNSW Canberra is located at the Australian Defence Force Academy in Canberra and subcampuses are located in the Sydney CBD, the suburbs of Randwick and Coogee.

UNSW’s unique campuses are at the centre of Sydney, a bustling global city that consistently ranks in the top-10 student cities in the world. Kensington is UNSW’s main campus – it’s just a short trip from the Sydney CBD and close to world famous beaches like Bondi and Coogee.

The UNSW Art & Design campus is located in the suburb of Paddington, a hub for art, culture and student life. Meanwhile UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) sits in our nation’s capital and political heart.

On campus facilities like the Michael Crouch Innovation Centre champion hands-on learning and entrepreneurship. Through access to the latest technology, students from all faculties can design, experiment and build their ideas with guidance from visionaries and corporate partners.
